Zingela Research Camp offers local and international people the ultimate volunteering/gap year opportunity. We strive to give volunteers an awesome experience while collecting valuable data from the game reserve and to be part of a research program that will move towards sustainable development. Volunteers will be gaining valuable knowledge about the African Bush and be part of a research program to maintain a healthy population and control of Zingela’s eco system.
Volunteers will be involved in the recording of all different species, habitat assessments, bird point counts, waterhole monitoring, game capture (if arranged), feeding and taking care of orphan animals (if any on the reserve), reserve work and setting up of camera traps.
Volunteers will also be involved in community development. They will visit nearby schools and communities as well as the pre-school that Zingela Nature Reserve build for the community, to make a difference in the community and their lives.
The Baobab camp is situated on one of the highest points of the reserve overlooking pristine African bush veld. The Baobab camp offers four luxury safari tents with en-suite bathrooms and viewing decks. Each safari tent accommodate two people. The main lodge consist of an open dinning area, fully equipped kitchen, traditional African starlight boma, swimming pool and lounge area. Your home in Africa away from home.
