Game walks

A walking safari brings you instantly back to nature, and there is nothing quite like hearing your own heartbeat as you slowly get closer to a herd of Eland resting under a tree. Track Buffalo and learn from an experienced ranger about how to identify animals using spoor, visual clues and your own sense of smell. Game walks have to be booked in advance.

Morning: 7:30 – 10:30

Afternoon: 15:00-18:00

Duration: 2-3 Hours

Rates: R350 Per Person

 

Game Drives

Enjoy a lovely and peaceful game drive on our main reserve by observing animals in their natural habitat. A experienced ranger will inform you on  some interesting facts about everything you see.

Relax in comfortable game viewing hides overlooking active waterholes, where a variety of different animals and birds come to quench their thirst. Interactive game ranching Working holidays at Zingela are open to volunteers who would like to learn about and experience wildlife, game ranching and farming in South Africa. Volunteers work with the staff team and take their instructions from our foreman.

They participate in the daily chores and learn how we care for our animals (Hi-value game, etc.), grow fruit and vegetables, maintain the lodge gardens, perform weekly checks of the fencing and watering holes for the game animals and fix fences and watering pipes.

They also learn about managing a game farm, maintaining the balance between flora and fauna, the programs to improve the carrying capacity of the land and the business of purchasing and selling game animals.

Local Excursions

Daily excursions to other places of interest can be arranged, but has to be booked prior to arrival, and at additional cost.
